Fogtavious Vandross – a rapper, Christian, and professional smooth dude joins Josue and Chase on the podcast. Foggie shares the story of moving from Ghana to the States at the age of 5 with his family, how he started in music, what it looked like at the start of his career, what it’s like to gain traction in music while still honoring God, and shares his heart and the reason why he feels comfortable/confidence with cussing in his songs.
We discuss the need for your character to be consistent with the image you’re portraying through your creativity, his African parents’ thoughts about music as a career, growth being slow at the start of a career, how he would describe himself as a rapper, God valuing people who are real with Him, how he approaches his music knowing it could influence someone’s worldview, and how we deal with dualities in life when it comes to identity and culture.
