Kennedy, friend, native of Nigeria, and Top 25 UFC Light Heavyweight based in Dallas, TX joins us. He shares his story of moving to America in 2010, his start in MMA in 2015, returning to faith in 2016, what it’s been like to see all the African success in sports in 2021, where his toughness came from, his routines and life as a pro athlete, and what Nigerian & American cultures could learn from one another.
We discuss the importance of allowing kids to develop rather than sheltering them, Kennedy feeling it would be disrespectful if he came to America and didn’t give his all, the need to understand what we have, how to handle setbacks and trust in God, not becoming obsessed with winning, the gentleness of God, and investing in ourselves.
